Pacific Media Exchange is one of a few companies that specializes in the placement of broadcast, print and outdoor advertising through barter. Unlike traditional advertising agencies, we deal primarily with the portion of our clients' expenditures which are allocated to barter.

Our goal is to provide the best possible placements at the most advantageous rates.

The Barter Advantage Many companies have found that buying advertising time and space with their own products or services is a very sensible method to obtain the exposure they need while conserving cash.

Hotels, restaurants, airlines, cruise lines and others whose operating costs are fixed, particularly find that filling up otherwise empty rooms, seats or cabins with trade-out customers can be highly profitable. This enables them to obtain advertising at a fraction of the cost of buying with cash from revenues.

The cost of a barter transaction for a hotel is room "make-up" ... for a restaurant, just the actual cost of the food and beverages served ... or, for a cruise line, the cost of occupying an empty cabin.

For example: a $220. hotel room that costs just $45. (make-up cost) will create $220. in advertising.

The savings are directly proportional to the advertiser's "gross margin".

It's like buying media time and space at wholesale!

Please visit our "Savings Guide" page for more details.

Keep in mind that the media tend to barter more for "destination" properties than "local" properties.

Promotional Opportunities Quite often the media will engage in secondary promotions, ie: contests, grand openings and other giveaways, using your products or services. Thus, it is possible to obtain several times the retail dollar value in actual exposure at no additional cost.
